International English Language Testing system (IELTS) evaluates the language
proficiency of an individual aspiring to avail education or employment in the countries where English is
majorly used for communication.
It is jointly governed by British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia and Cambridge Assessment
English.
There are 2 (two) types of IELTS:
Listening
It consists of four sections, each with 1 recording. Each recording comprises of ten questions. The test taker can hear the recording only once. The questions are designed in such a way that their answers appear in order when the recording is played.
